Urheilusukelluskerho Delfin ry

Urheilusukelluskerho Delfin ry is an active, bilingual diving club based in Vaasa, Finland, founded in 1963. It welcomes beginners, experienced divers and families, offering year-round opportunities to learn, train and take part in activities together. The club’s diving focuses on scuba diving, with trips to local quarries and, especially in summer, excursions around the Kvarken (Merenkurkku) region. Its support vessel, Stea, enables longer outings to the area’s well-preserved wrecks, including Vestkusten, Christiansborg, Wilpas, Atlanta and Georgius. Trips range from day excursions to weekend dives and longer camps.

Delfin provides scuba training from beginner courses through advanced development and instructor-level education. It also offers first-aid training and youth programmes: Norppa activities teach children and young people aged 7–14 water, snorkelling and safety skills, while Kuutt activities introduce children aged 3–6 and their parents to water through play and swimming basics. Members can also play underwater rugby, with training at Vaasa swimming hall for adults and juniors. The club’s programme includes events, a forum and a gallery for members and visitors.
