Démadé Liberi di Libri is a youth literature festival based in Livorno, Italy, created to celebrate books, storytelling and creativity with young readers, families and schools. Founded in 2025 through the initiative of Elaide Garufi, a young writer, the festival brings authors and audiences together for literary events and creative activities. Its second edition is scheduled for May 7–10, 2026, at Livorno’s historic Fortezza Vecchia.
The program features meetings with authors, book-related events and special experiences designed to connect reading with other interests. These include sailing-based storytelling, creative workshops and opportunities to read and write aboard a boat. Visitors can also explore a festival bookshop, organized by Librerie Coop, where books by participating authors and other titles are available for purchase.
Démadé welcomes authors who wish to present their work and volunteers who want to support event organization and hospitality. Donations help fund the festival through the Démadé APS association, which uses the proceeds exclusively to produce the event.
