About De Mains De Maîtres
De Mains de Maîtres Luxembourg is an association dedicated to the promotion, valorization, and transmission of Luxembourgish arts and crafts, both within the Grand Duchy and beyond its borders in European countries. With a focus on showcasing the artistry and craftsmanship of Luxembourg, the association organizes the Biennale De Mains De Maîtres, a major event that celebrates and explores the theme of "Le Geste et le Territoire" (The Gesture and the Territory). This fourth edition of the Biennale, which will take place from September 25th to 28th, 2023, will feature over sixty selected Luxembourgish artisans as well as the invited guest country, Portugal.
Through this exhibition, De Mains De Maîtres aims to examine the transmission of artistic identity and cultural heritage, as well as the influence of foreign artisans on local craftsmanship. In addition to the Biennale, the association offers artist residencies, an online shop dedicated to Luxembourgish artisans, and participation in renowned international events like Révélations and Homo Faber.
