Demensförbundet

Demensförbundet is a Swedish association dedicated to people living with dementia and those close to them. Through a network of around 100 local dementia associations, it connects individuals and families with community activities, information and support across the country. The organisation provides guidance through a telephone advisory service and shares practical advice on dementia symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, everyday life, caregiving and legal matters. Its website also offers personal stories, films, webinars, expert answers and resources for relatives and caregivers.

Demensförbundet publishes the magazine Leva med demens and sells books, brochures and other materials to help people understand dementia. Local associations organise activities and opportunities for people affected by dementia to meet and talk. The organisation also works to influence public policy and promote a more dementia-friendly society. Through Demensfonden, its fundraising foundation, it supports dementia research and shares information about research developments and funded projects. Membership, donations and gifts help sustain its work, while campaigns and events raise awareness and encourage better understanding and support for people affected by dementia.
