About Dementia Canterbury
Dementia Canterbury is a long-standing not-for-profit organization that exists to support individuals and their families following a dementia diagnosis. With a focus on the Waitaha-Canterbury and Te Tai Poutini-West Coast regions, our dedicated team offers a range of free, community-based education, activities, and specialized support services. We believe in raising awareness about dementia and breaking down the associated barriers and stigma.
Our goal is to encourage individuals to seek a diagnosis and provide them with the tools they need to continue living fulfilling lives. Our services include navigation education programs, cultural advisory and support, cognitive stimulation programs, activity and respite programs, and specialized programs for younger onset dementia. We also provide resources such as information sheets, articles, and educational videos, as well as useful websites for further support.
