About Demos
Dēmos is a non-profit public policy organization dedicated to fostering a just, inclusive, multiracial democracy and economy. With a focus on democracy reform, economic justice, and racial justice, Dēmos collaborates with Black and brown communities, grassroots organizations, and state-based entities to build power and advocate for progressive change.
For over 25 years, Dēmos has championed initiatives like debt-free college, voting rights access, and credit card protections to drive these issues into the mainstream. Their current mission is clear - to empower Black and brown individuals, steering the nation towards a future of inclusivity, equity, and shared power.
Through research, policy solutions, legal advocacy, and narrative strategies, Dēmos works to amplify the voices of marginalized communities, strengthen voting rights, worker protections, and decentralize power to the people. By developing bold ideas, supporting grassroots movements, and advocating for systemic change, Dēmos is at the forefront of shaping a more just society for all.
