The Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz (German Foundation for Monument Protection) is the biggest private initiative for preservation of the cultural heritage in Germany. Founded in 1985 as a citizens' initiative, the private trust commits itself to fund and preserve about 500 endangered monuments each year, enabled through contributions of more than 200.000 regular donors. The charity raises awareness through a hollistic communication approach, e.g., coordinating Germany's biggest cultural event "Tag des offenen Denkmals®".

About Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz
Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz is the largest private initiative for monument preservation in Germany. They are dedicated to the comprehensive preservation of endangered architectural heritage throughout the country. Their efforts range from emergency rescue missions for at-risk monuments to various youth projects and the renowned Tag des offenen Denkmals® (Day of Open Monuments).
Annually, the foundation supports around 600 projects, thanks to the active participation and donations of over 200,000 patrons. They also organize numerous events and initiatives. In addition, they offer services such as the DenkmalAkademie, Monumente-Reisen, and Monumente-Magazin.
