Gedenkstätte und Lernort in Bremen-Farge. Der Bunker „Valentin“ ist die Ruine einer U-Boot-Werft der deutschen Kriegsmarine aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. In den Jahren 1943 bis 1945 wurden hier Tausende von Zwangsarbeitenden aus ganz Europa und Nordafrika eingesetzt: Zivile Zwangsarbeiter:innen ebenso wie Kriegsgefangene und KZ-Häftlinge. Mehr als 1600 von ihnen starben während der Bauarbeiten an Unterernährung, Krankheiten und willkürlichen Tötungen. Im November 2015 wurde der Dokumentations- und Erinnerungsort Denkort Bunker Valentin offiziell eröffnet. Durch die Ausstellungen und übrigen Informationsangebote wird an die Schicksale von über 10 000 Menschen erinnert. Die Bedingungen, unter denen sie verhaftet, nach Farge deportiert und auf der Baustelle arbeiteten, stehen dabei im Mittelpunkt.

About Denkort Bunker Valentin | Bremen
Denkort Bunker Valentin in Bremen-Farge is a memorial site and educational center. It is located within the ruins of the Valentin bunker, which was a submarine shipyard of the German Kriegsmarine during World War II. From 1943 to 1945, thousands of forced laborers from across Europe and North Africa were employed here, including civilian forced laborers, prisoners of war, and concentration camp inmates.
Tragically, more than 1600 of them died due to malnutrition, disease, and arbitrary killings during construction. In November 2015, Denkort Bunker Valentin was officially opened as a place of remembrance and documentation. The exhibitions and other informational offerings focus on the stories of over 10,000 individuals, highlighting the conditions under which they were arrested, deported to Farge, and worked on the construction site.
