About Denver Bujinkan
Denver Bujinkan Dōjō is a private, non-commercial martial arts school in the Denver area, based in Littleton, Colorado. Led by dōjō-chō Rich Pace, it is dedicated to studying and transmitting koryū budō taijutsu, the classical Japanese military arts, as a living tradition rather than a competitive sport. Training is formal and non-competitive, grounded in traditional kata and principles.
The dōjō follows the Bujinkan, an international organization based in Chiba, Japan, under the headmastership of Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi. Its curriculum includes teachings from nine classical schools, including Gyokko-ryū, Togakure-ryū, and Kukishinden-ryū, alongside other classical martial arts teachings. Weekly sessions cover the Ten Chi Jin Ryaku no Maki and school-specific material.
Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings at The Rock Martial Arts in Littleton. The dōjō also holds occasional focused seminars and joint training sessions with other Colorado Bujinkan schools. Membership is selective, with prospective students considered by referral or application, followed by an interview, class observation, and probationary training.
