Den Vltavy

Den Vltavy is a public event organized by Vševltavský spolek, a Czech association based in Prague. Held along the Vltava River, it invites residents and visitors to explore the river, learn about its history and activities, and enjoy a varied programme for children and adults. The 2026 event is scheduled for Sunday, 22 March, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with activities taking place at several riverside locations.

Visitors can take boat trips from five Prague piers and attend open days, guided tours, demonstrations, and family activities. The programme includes presentations by rescue and river-police teams, water-safety demonstrations, children’s entertainment, cold-water swimming, and opportunities to discover rowing and yacht clubs, a historic steamboat museum, and Prague’s flood-protection measures. Guests can also visit the historic Bubeneč wastewater treatment plant and Podskalská Customs House, or enjoy raft rides on Čertovka. Den Vltavy brings together cultural, educational, and recreational experiences that highlight the river and the communities connected with it.
