De Pietenbende is a foundation based in Haarlem that organizes Sinterklaas-season appearances and events in Haarlem and the surrounding area. Its activities include festive arrivals, visits to businesses, and home visits, helping bring the holiday celebration to local streets, shops, workplaces, and families. During an event, Sinterklaas and the Pieten may greet visitors, meet local businesses, receive children’s drawings, and hand out kruidnoten and chocolate letters.
The group also shares event news and media through its website, where visitors can find information about the Pieten and contact the organization about available options. One featured event is the annual-style arrival on Bloemendaalseweg, with the group scheduled to walk through the street and visit shops. For 2025, De Pietenbende states that it will not be offering home visits, while its broader services include both business and home visits in other years.
With a focus on seasonal appearances and community events, the foundation brings Sinterklaas traditions to Haarlem and nearby communities
