De Ponyspecialist

De Ponyspecialist is the saddle-fitting business of Lonneke Tromp, a qualified saddle fitter who specializes in pony saddles. Working across Noord-Holland, including Texel, Zuid-Holland, Utrecht, Flevoland and Friesland, she also welcomes horses, from Shetland ponies to sport horses. Her service focuses on finding a suitable saddle for each animal and rider, taking account of the varied shapes and fitting challenges that can make pony saddles difficult to source.

The range includes dressage, jumping, all-purpose and endurance saddles, as well as flexible-tree, conventional-tree and treeless models, lightweight saddles and bareback pads. De Ponyspecialist also offers saddle checks, adjustments and repairs. Depending on the saddle, adjustments may include reflocking, replacing wool flocking or moving girth strap attachments. A fitting appointment can help identify whether a saddle is causing discomfort or restricting the pony’s movement, and whether an existing saddle can be adapted rather than replaced. The aim is to support comfortable riding with a properly fitting saddle.
