Der Bow

Der Bow is the bow-making workshop and brand of Matthias Klein, a trained carpenter based in Zülpich, Germany. Combining craftsmanship, technical knowledge and an interest in the artistic qualities of wood, Klein creates bows designed for both performance and distinctive appearance. His range includes longbows, recurve bows and hybrid bows, offered as one-piece designs, takedown models or bows that separate at the grip.

The collection features models such as Draven, Muron, Siri, Runi, Verus and Tiras, with styles ranging from understated elegance to a more technical look. Klein works with wood and, for laminated bows, combines materials including fiberglass to achieve the desired characteristics. He began offering his work publicly in 2012, after years of studying, testing and refining his bow-making craft.

Der Bow also runs bow-building workshops, where participants receive guidance in making their own bow from individual components.
