About Derby Canal
Derby Riverboat is a brand that offers a unique and enjoyable experience on the River Derwent. Launched in October 2021, the Derby Riverboat, named Outram, takes passengers on regular trips from the city center up to Darley Abbey and back. With a capacity of 12 passengers, each trip lasts approximately 45 minutes and runs between Spring and Autumn.
The boat is equipped with an audio commentary, providing fascinating facts about Derby's history and its exciting plans for the future. Passengers can also enjoy on-board refreshments and educational entertainment for children. The Derby Riverboat is committed to environmental sustainability, as it is fully powered by an electric propulsion system, with batteries partially charged using solar panels on board.
