Derby Public Library is a trusted and accessible resource that caters to the informational, educational, recreational, and cultural needs of the entire Derby community. Established in 1957, the library has evolved and expanded over the years to better serve its patrons. After starting out in two rooms at City Hall, the library moved locations several times before settling in its current home at 1600 E Walnut Grove.
Throughout its history, the library has been a pioneer in providing essential services. In 1996, Derby became the first library in Sedgwick County to offer public Internet access. The library boasts an extensive collection of books, e-books, and e-audiobooks, as well as various programs and events for adults, kids, and teens.
In addition to its comprehensive resources, the library also offers services such as copying, faxing, printing, and notary services. With its commitment to serving the community, Derby Public Library truly embodies the essence of a modern and inclusive library
