The Derouet Jameson Memorial Foundation is a registered charity in England and Wales and a long-standing supporter of wine trade education. Established in 1979, the Foundation provides awards and bursaries to help students pursue specialist wine qualifications and develop their knowledge of the industry.
Its annual Derouet Jameson Awards include scholarships for up to three outstanding candidates from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Diploma examinations. These scholarships are intended to support recipients as they progress toward the Master of Wine course, which takes at least two years to complete. Funding covers the application fee, the first year of study course costs, and a contribution toward travel expenses.
The Foundation also offers two bursaries for students taking the Viticulture and Vinification course at Plumpton College, part of the University of Sussex. The course is described by the Foundation as a leading wine production course in England. Through these awards, bursaries, and charitable sponsorship, the Foundation helps make advanced wine education more accessible to deserving students.
