Deschutes Collaborative Forest

The Deschutes Collaborative Forest Project (DCFP) is a dedicated initiative focused on restoring the health of Central Oregon's forests to prevent catastrophic wildfires and promote community well-being. Comprised of a diverse group of volunteers and stakeholders, the DCFP collaborates with the U.S. Forest Service to implement effective forest management practices.

The project emphasizes the importance of low-intensity fires in maintaining forest ecosystems, enabling opportunities for recreational activities, and preserving habitats for wildlife. DCFP undertakes various restoration efforts, including prescribed burns, tree thinning, and habitat restoration, all aimed at enhancing forest resilience and ensuring the availability of clean drinking water.

By fostering communication among individuals with differing views, the DCFP creates a platform for informed discussion and cohesive decision-making. Through educational resources and community engagement, DCFP remains committed to its mission of safeguarding public lands, promoting sustainable practices, and nurturing relationships among stakeholders for a healthier environment.
