About Descosur
Descosur is a non-governmental development organization that has been a valuable part of Peruvian civil society for 58 years. We are dedicated to promoting sustainable development in marginalized urban populations and rural areas in the southern macro region of Peru. In collaboration with economic, social, and political actors, both public and private, we strive to improve living conditions and reduce inequalities.
Recognizing the evolving sociopolitical and economic context of the country, as well as changes in international cooperation, Descosur has recently undertaken internal restructuring to align with these new demands. Our revamped structure, guided by revised statutes, allows us to operate on a national level. We now consist of three legal entities working harmoniously together.
Our projects are made possible through the financial support of various international cooperation organizations from Spain, the Basque Country, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland, as well as Peruvian and foreign corporate entities that have entrusted us with their corporate social responsibility initiatives.
