Desece Organization 2006

DESECE (Development and Social Empowerment Centre) is a community-driven organization based on Webuye–Kitale Road in Bungoma County, Kenya. Its mission is to empower rural communities through gender equality, human rights advocacy, and sustainable agriculture, working toward a just and self-reliant society. The organization serves communities across Bungoma, Trans-Nzoia, and Kakamega counties, using participatory programs shaped by community needs and feedback.

DESECE offers initiatives in organic agriculture and agro-ecology, promoting eco-friendly, climate-smart farming practices that support food security, livelihoods, and environmental protection. Its other programs include gender equality and mainstreaming, reproductive health education and wellness, HIV and AIDS awareness and support, civic education, human rights advocacy, and policy dialogue. The organization also provides community library services and supports leadership and capacity building, peace building, and conflict resolution. Through education, advocacy, and practical community programs, DESECE aims to strengthen resilience, expand opportunity, and improve social well-being. Its vision is to become a leading service provider championing the empowerment of rural communities.
