Desert Mountain Equine is an Arizona veterinary practice focused on sports medicine and comprehensive care for horses. Founded by Dr. Meyer after his experience treating high-performance horses on Southern California’s racetrack circuit, the practice has grown from a home-based operation into a full-service equine hospital with a purpose-built clinic. Its veterinary team serves horses across a range of disciplines, including reining, jumping, dressage, racing, ranch work, and recreational competition.

Services span routine and preventive care, such as dental work, vaccinations, and wellness visits, as well as specialized sports medicine. The practice offers lameness evaluations, pre-purchase examinations, advanced diagnostics, individualized treatment planning, and preventative maintenance programs. Emergency veterinary care is also available around the clock. Desert Mountain Equine aims to help horses stay comfortable, sound, and able to perform while supporting their long-term health. The practice emphasizes clear communication and collaboration with owners, trainers, and riders, treating each horse as an individual and building lasting partnerships with Arizona’s equestrian community.
