Desert Skies Aviation is an Arizona-based flight training provider serving Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, and surrounding communities. Founded by Mesa-born flight instructor Thomas Ferrier, the school emphasizes personalized, flexible instruction, transparent pricing, and practical skills for safe, independent flying. Training is offered under FAA Part 61 by an independent Certified Flight Instructor, with instruction in rented aircraft or aircraft provided by students.

Programs include private, instrument, commercial, and flight instructor training, with schedules tailored to students’ goals and availability. Ground instruction is available through live drop-in sessions, full-syllabus courses, and checkride preparation with mock oral exams. Students can also book a discovery flight featuring a ground briefing, hands-on flying, and a consultation about training options. The school offers access to a range of aircraft, including Piper Archers and Cessnas, and advertises block-pricing discounts and flexible payment plans. Desert Skies also promotes an Arizona ESA-supported pathway for young aviators, combining ground school, simulator training, and flight instruction to help eligible students pursue aviation certificates.
