Desert Springs Equestrian Center

Desert Springs Equestrian Center & Sanctuary (DSEC) is an equestrian facility and animal sanctuary in Marana, Arizona. Formed in response to livestock surrenders during the 2008–2010 financial crisis, it focuses on critical cases of abuse and abandonment. DSEC provides care and rehabilitation for horses, donkeys, mules, cattle, goats, sheep, chickens, llamas, and other livestock. Working under veterinary direction, the sanctuary has equipment to lift downed animals and medical stalls for treatment.

For horses, DSEC offers training at different levels and in multiple disciplines, from basic groundwork to advanced dressage and jumping. Its boarding services accommodate short-term medical needs, foaling, and vacations, with spacious stalls and daily turnout. The 65-acre, fully fenced property is also available for private and corporate events, including equine and canine activities.

DSEC works to find new homes for animals and invites the public to sponsor or adopt them. Supporters can contribute through donations and volunteering. The organization also lists medical services, trailering, and temporary boarding among its offerings, and shares animal stories and updates through news coverage and social media.
