Desert Star Institute for Family Planning is a Phoenix-based reproductive and sexual health care organization focused on creating equitable access to care. The Black woman-led institute works from the principles of Reproductive Justice and centers Black, Indigenous, and other people of color through its services, partnerships, and community programs.

Its clinical offerings include surgical and medication abortion, birth control, long-acting contraception, family planning, gynecology, annual exams, sexually transmitted disease testing, miscarriage care, and gender-affirming care. The institute also accepts many major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare; patients can contact the office to confirm coverage.

Beyond direct patient care, Desert Star provides abortion-provider training, community education, advocacy, and organizing. Its programs aim to strengthen reproductive health knowledge and access, while donations help support services for historically marginalized communities, training for future providers, and contraception for uninsured people.
