About Design Justice Network
The Design Justice Network is a vibrant community of designers, artists, technologists, and community organizers committed to rethinking design processes and addressing the challenges faced by marginalized communities. With a focus on centering the voices of the directly impacted, they use collaborative and creative practices to sustain, heal, and empower communities while seeking liberation from exploitative systems. The network operates on a set of principles that prioritize community impact over designer intentions and view change as an emergent, accountable, and collaborative process.
They believe that everyone is an expert with unique contributions to offer and work towards sustainable, community-led outcomes. Through knowledge sharing, they uplift traditional and local practices while working towards non-exploitative solutions that reconnect us to the earth and each other. To support their mission, you can become a member, attend an event, join a working group or local node, or sign on to their principles.
The Design Justice Network is a sponsored project of Allied Media Projects, fostering consentful and inclusive practices
