About Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources
The German Mineral Resources Agency (DERA) is a national information and consultancy platform for mineral raw materials. Established in 2010 by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), DERA is part of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR). With a strong foundation on years of expertise and a wide scientific and technical infrastructure, DERA aims to contribute to a secure, affordable, and sustainable mineral raw material supply for Germany.
Their team of experts, which includes geoscientific, economic, mining engineering, and processing professionals, conducts in-depth analyses and assessments using publicly available technical information as well as their own research. They evaluate commodity markets and international mineral supply sources to identify potential price and supply risks along the supply chain. DERA also supports measures undertaken by the Federal Government and companies in securing mineral raw materials on global markets.
