DevNet NZ, short for Aotearoa New Zealand International Development Studies Network, is a dynamic and inclusive interface for individuals and organizations engaged in or studying international development. With a global reach and over 2,000 members from various countries, including Aotearoa, the Pacific, Australia, Southeast Asia, India, and China, DevNet facilitates the exchange of ideas, research, and information among academics, students, development practitioners, NGOs, and government agencies. The overall direction of DevNet is determined by the National Forum, which convenes during the biennial DevNet Conference.

The network is governed by a steering committee, consisting of representatives from each Aotearoa New Zealand university, alongside associate representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Council for International Development. DevNet has a rich history, starting with its establishment in 1995 to link Development Studies programs and build rapport with relevant stakeholders. Biennial conferences have been an integral part of DevNet's growth, focusing on topics such as poverty, contesting development, Southern perspectives, and development on the edge.

Despite funding fluctuations, these conferences continue to be a highlight on the DevNet calendar. In addition to conferences, DevNet fosters collaboration through research grants, advocacy work, mentorship programs, and the dissemination of resources. With a commitment to studying and addressing development challenges, DevNet plays a crucial role in advancing sustainable development practices
