De Vrije Tijd Tuinders

De Vrije Tijd Tuinders is a community allotment gardening association based at Westeresch 18 in Roden, Netherlands. It offers members the opportunity to rent a plot and enjoy gardening in a friendly, rural setting. Plots range from 50 to 200 square metres, giving gardeners space to grow vegetables, fruit, flowers and other plants. The association encourages members to share practical work and the pleasures of sowing, planting and harvesting.

Alongside garden rentals, De Vrije Tijd Tuinders organizes activities throughout the year, welcoming members and visitors to take part. Events include a plant market, a branch-clearing day, a midsummer evening, a Christmas tree sale and the annual Open Day, which also celebrates the garden community’s harvest. The association shares event information, news, photographs and gardening-related updates through its website, and provides details about membership, garden rental and site policies. Visitors can also find information about the board and links to local groups, including IVN Roden and the Nietap beekeepers’ association.
