Dewey's Martial Arts

Dewey’s Martial Arts Academy is a family-oriented dojo with locations in Delmar and Rensselaer, New York. The academy teaches Nihon Goshin Karate Do, a traditional Japanese hard-style martial art, and welcomes students as they progress from white belt toward advanced black belt ranks. Its philosophy emphasizes dedication, motivation, self-improvement, and striving to do one’s best.

Students and prospective members can find class schedules, dojo rules, the student creed, Japanese terminology, syllabuses, and kata materials organized by belt level. The academy also provides instructional resources for basic and intermediate self-defenses, partner practice, and Tiny Tigers, including demonstration and training videos. For new students, a $25 introductory offer includes a gi, or uniform, and three private lessons to help them get started.

The website also lists additional local training opportunities in Delmar Aikido, Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu, and Seito Shito Ryu Karate. Dewey’s invites families and individuals interested in martial arts study to contact either dojo location for more information.
