The Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre, originally known as the De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre, is a pioneering brand in wildlife conservation and research. Established in 1971, it holds the distinction of being the first facility globally to breed captive cheetahs sustainably and receive CITES approval for cheetah breeding. The center's primary objective is to maintain a genetically diverse population of cheetahs and African wild dogs for future reintroduction into their natural habitats.

Since its inception, the center has successfully bred over 600 cheetah cubs and more than 500 wild dog pups. Additionally, the center has contributed to the conservation efforts of various other endangered species such as African wild cats, Suni, Blue and Red Duiker, Riverine Rabbit, Vultures including the highly rare Egyptian Vulture. The Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre provides a safe haven for 78 cheetahs, 21 wild dogs, and numerous confiscated animals.

It also actively engages in research, with over eighty publications that contribute to the well-being and survival of these species. The center relies on tours, an adoption program, donations, and sponsorship as sources of funding, as it does not receive any government support.
