De Wonderweide

De Wonderweide, also known as Saar’s Wonderweide, is a nature-based destination in Oostwoud in the Netherlands, offering horse coaching and activities for children. Founded by Jolanda and inspired by Saar, the brand creates a welcoming place where children can learn, play and grow alongside horses and ponies. Jolanda is a qualified horse coach with additional training in child coaching, and activities are guided with an emphasis on safety, warmth and acceptance.

The programme combines playful experiences with opportunities to build confidence, communication and trust. Children can try hobbyhorse activities, groundwork with ponies, horse-based brain games, picnics outdoors and liberty dressage. In groundwork, for example, they interact with ponies without riding, exploring cooperation and personal boundaries. The activities are designed to encourage discovery and enjoyment while helping children recognise their own strengths.

De Wonderweide’s pony family is central to the experience, with each animal bringing a distinct character. The organisation also holds events and welcomes enquiries from families interested in coaching, activities or upcoming experiences in nature.
