Diables KABRA

Diables KABRA is a community fire-runner and percussion group based in the Sant Josep neighbourhood of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, active since late 1999. Bringing together diables and diablesses, as well as female and male drummers, the group celebrates local culture through correfocs, where performers fill the streets with sparks using firecrackers and traditional fire equipment. Its activities also feature La Kabrona, a 55-kilogram resin fire beast created in 2021, with ten points of fire and a distinctive purple gaze.

KABRA organizes events throughout the year, including Sant Josep’s Festa Major correfoc, the Kabronada Musikal percussion festival, a biennial gathering of fire beasts, a women’s fire arts event, and neighbourhood Carnival celebrations. The group also takes part in other local festivities and offers opportunities for new members to join as performers or drummers. Its identity is proudly feminist, anti-fascist, inclusive, and rooted in neighbourhood life. Through performances, festivals, and community initiatives, KABRA combines fire, rhythm, creativity, and irreverent spirit while helping sustain Catalonia’s popular festive traditions.
