About Dials
Dials is a watch-reference catalogue built to make models easier to understand and compare. It records 41,996 models from 199 watch houses, using a consistent specification for each entry. The catalogue organizes information around four core areas: case, calibre, dial and bracelet, with more than 40 specification fields. This structure lets visitors compare watches side by side, search the collection and browse brands, series and individual references. Listings are also featured, with catalogue pages showing listing counts where available.
Alongside the reference database, Dials publishes a journal with primers, field notes and buying guidance on topics such as reading reference numbers, understanding movements, photography, condition grades and service history. The site also provides API documentation and contact information. Its focus is systematic watch data: presenting technical details in a shared format to support discovery and informed comparison across a wide range of makers and models. Search tools and editorial material make the catalogue useful for exploring collections and researching particular watches.
