About Dickens Festijn
Dickens Festijn is an iconic brand that brings the 19th-century English city of Charles Dickens to life in the heart of Deventer. Every year, over 950 characters from the famous books of Charles Dickens come alive in the historic Bergkwartier district. From Scrooge to Oliver Twist, from Mr.
Pickwick to Christmas Carol Singers, visitors can immerse themselves in the magical world of Dickens. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the festival finally returned in December 2022, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. In addition to the Dickens Festijn, there is also the Dickens Walk, a self-guided audio tour that allows you to experience the world of Charles Dickens at your own pace.
