Die Mittagsmatrosen GmbH is a municipal school-meal provider based in Rostock and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hanseatic and University City of Rostock. From summer 2025, it provides meals for students at the city’s public schools, with a focus on food that is healthy, tasty, fair, and affordable. The company presents school dining as more than a meal: it aims to create a positive, welcoming experience and a shared social moment for children.

Its meals are prepared with care and an emphasis on quality and freshness. The service is designed to be dependable and inclusive, with special meal options available for children with illnesses or food intolerances. Families can register and order meals through the company’s website, which also offers information about menus, the school calendar, and using its ordering page as a smartphone app.

Rooted in Rostock, Die Mittagsmatrosen highlights local responsibility, respect, openness, and reliable service. It also works with regional suppliers and invites food and non-food businesses to become delivery partners, while offering job opportunities for people interested in joining its team.
