Die Fährfrau

Die Fährfrau is the independent funeral and grief-support practice of Ines Kurtz, serving Bitterfeld-Wolfen and the surrounding area. With a personal commitment to conversations about death and bereavement, Kurtz supports individuals and families through the difficult process of saying goodbye. Her perspective has been shaped by voluntary work in a hospice and ongoing development in end-of-life care and grief support. She also completed training as a funeral celebrant through ZTL, a state-recognized continuing education institution for hospice and palliative care.

Services include compassionate, individually written funeral tributes that honor a person’s life and offer comfort to those left behind. Kurtz also provides bereavement support, accompanying individuals and families as they process loss. For those planning ahead, she offers consultations to record personal wishes for a farewell, as well as assistance in preparing a speech that reflects the person’s life and values. She works closely with clients and their relatives to plan respectful, personal funeral ceremonies. Throughout, the needs and wishes of each client remain central to her work.
