Dierenambulance De Wijs

Stichting Dierenambulance De Wijs is a nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in need since 1972. Based in the Haaglanden region, it serves Delft, Westland and surrounding areas, providing round-the-clock assistance for sick, injured, lost and found animals. Residents can call its 24/7 helpline for advice, and the team will collect an animal when necessary.

The organization’s services include animal ambulance transport, help with found pets and wildlife, guidance on situations involving young birds, hedgehogs, owls and other animals, and information about missing or deceased animals. It also offers pet transport, including transport for deceased pets, and cat microchipping. Its website provides practical search tips, local veterinary contacts and details of animal shelters and opvang locations.

De Wijs relies on volunteers, donations and community support to carry out its work. People can volunteer as drivers, dispatchers, animal-care helpers or garden-maintenance volunteers, and support the organization through donations, legacy gifts and other fundraising initiatives.
