Dierenasiel.nu is a Dutch online platform that helps people find animal shelters and discover pets looking for a new home. The website offers an overview of nearby animal shelters and listings for dogs, cats and other animals, bringing prospective adopters together with animals in need of care. People seeking a warm home for a pet can place an advertisement for free. The platform also includes sections for found and missing animals, helping visitors browse relevant notices and information.

Beyond its listings, Dierenasiel.nu shares practical pet-care tips, including guidance on heartworm prevention and coat care, and provides information about animal shelters and products for dogs and cats. Visitors can explore dog and cat names, submit their own suggestions, and find links to partners and other useful resources. The site invites supporters to contribute from €1 to help animals find a new home, with donations available through iDeal, PayPal or Bancontact. A newsletter offers updates about shelters and animals available for adoption, while the website also provides contact and advertising information.
