Dierenbescherming Mechelen is a dedicated animal welfare organization that provides temporary shelter and care for lost, abandoned, and confiscated dogs and cats. But our mission goes beyond that – let us introduce you to our work. Our main focus is ensuring the well-being of animals by offering them a temporary, safe, and healthy environment – a stress-free and loving home for dogs and cats.

We prioritize finding the perfect match between potential adopters and available animals, ensuring a successful adoption. To achieve this, all dogs undergo behavior testing and receive ongoing monitoring. We have a questionnaire available on our website for adoption candidates to fill out, and if their preferences align with the animals in our care, they are invited to meet them.

We involve all family members in the adoption process. When adopting a dog, existing dogs are also brought along for compatibility checks. If you're going on vacation, we offer pet boarding services.
