DigiBC is the Creative Technology Industry Association of British Columbia, dedicated to nurturing the province's innovative landscape in animation, video games, visual effects (VFX), and extended reality (XR). Established in 1997, originally as New Media BC, DigiBC champions the creative tech sector as a vital component of the broader technology and media ecosystem. The organization focuses on four key pillars: empowering talent by partnering with educational institutions to align curricula with industry needs; fostering diversity and inclusion throughout the sector; creating jobs by advocating for policies that support local companies; and building a vibrant creative tech community through events and networking opportunities.
DigiBC also offers the Work Placement Pilot Program, connecting post-secondary students with experiential learning opportunities in the dynamic fields of creative technology. Through these initiatives, DigiBC aims to establish British Columbia as a global hub for creative tech while accelerating growth and innovation in the industry for generations to come.
