Hong Kong Dignity Institute is a registered charity dedicated to restoring dignity to the most vulnerable individuals in Hong Kong. Our mission is to protect and support those facing trauma, such as mental illnesses, human trafficking, forced marriage, domestic and sexual abuse, discrimination, and exploitation. We believe in going deep to dismantle the systems that perpetuate these abuses.

At Hong Kong Dignity Institute, we provide individualized and integrated legal and psychosocial support to our clients. This holistic approach allows us to examine their needs and provide immediate strategic guidance. We also offer connections to shelters and support networks while working with partners on the ground to help rebuild lives in Hong Kong or their home countries.

In addition to our client services, we engage in important research and investigation to uncover the hidden factors of exploitation. By mapping criminal activity, systemic marginalization, and traumatisation, we aim to address the root causes of abuse. We also serve as a knowledge exchange hub, collaborating with civil society, government departments, and experts in the field.

Through training, coordination, and collective advocacy, we work towards creating a safer environment for vulnerable individuals. Furthermore, we recognize the importance of education and provide experiential learning opportunities to students. By partnering with academic institutions, we ensure that their work directly contributes to our services and goals.

Our notable work includes the publication of important research articles, delivering workshops, and providing support services to clients from 38 countries. Since our launch in 2019, we have assisted 256 clients, provided 506 integrated legal/mental health consultations, and engaged in 184 stakeholder meetings.
