DILAMEG

DILAMEG, the National Association of Distributors and Laboratories of Generic Medicines, represents Mexico’s domestic generic pharmaceutical industry. Founded to promote the development and use of locally produced generic medicines, the association brings together key participants in pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution. It works to build trusted relationships with health and regulatory authorities and support improvements to sector regulation and Mexico’s economic development.

DILAMEG’s members manufacture and distribute generic medicines intended to be safe, effective, and high quality. Their product range includes solid medicines such as tablets and capsules, liquid forms such as suspensions and syrups, and sterile products such as injectables, addressing major therapeutic needs across the Mexican population. Member laboratories produce more than 2.7 billion medicine units annually, equivalent to approximately 59% of local consumption, according to the association. Its members’ commercial distribution network reaches all of Mexico, helping make these medicines accessible at affordable prices. DILAMEG also connects industry participants through initiatives including a virtual fair, convention, magazine, and blog, while sharing updates and information about the generic medicines sector.
