About DIMO
DIMO (Digital Infrastructure for Moving Objects) provides vehicle data infrastructure for developers and businesses building services around trips, rentals, and other on-demand vehicle sessions. Its platform brings together vehicle access, identity, real-time telemetry, and owner consent through a single permissioned API, supporting vehicles from more than 50 brands, including Tesla, Ford, BMW, Toyota, and Hyundai. Developers can use GraphQL and REST endpoints, with official TypeScript, Python, and C# SDKs, to access data such as location, battery or fuel level, odometer, tire pressure, and diagnostic codes.
DIMO also offers tools for managing session-based workflows, including rentals, fleet turnover, usage-based services, insurance, and maintenance triggered by vehicle activity. Vehicle owners can grant or revoke granular data permissions, while the platform provides auditable access records. Its core is open source and supports optional telematics hardware, as well as ingestion of external vehicle data.
