About DIPC
DIPC, the Supercomputing Center, is a leading scientific facility in the Basque Country. Equipped with advanced computational capabilities, it is a strategic investment by regional institutions, with the Department of Education of the Basque Government at the forefront. The Supercomputing Center serves as a powerful scientific tool to address the most complex questions posed by nature, from the smallest to the largest scale.
Researchers utilize its resources for a wide range of purposes, including discovering new materials with advanced properties, simulating the formation of the universe, galaxies, and black holes, analyzing brain function, computing various nanostructures and molecules, exploring artificial intelligence, and studying elementary particles like neutrinos. ATLAS, the Center's most powerful supercomputer, offers an impressive capacity of 13,400 cores, 85 terabytes of RAM, and serves over 400 users. These computing resources, available 24/7, 365 days a year, support the entire Basque research community.
In addition, the Supercomputing Center provides scientific application support, IT services, data storage, and website hosting.
