Located in Woodstock, Cape Town, DIPLOMICS is hosted by the Centre for Proteomic & Genomic Research. The primary objective of DIPLOMICS is to enhance and strengthen Omics capacity, thereby improving the quality of research and increasing accessibility to Omics technology and expertise.

DIPLOMICS offers comprehensive support to partner laboratories, deploying state-of-the-art equipment, providing maintenance and service contracts in cooperation with the industry, and implementing laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Moreover, DIPLOMICS is committed to advanced training, both for scientists and technicians, by offering access to specialized courses and workshops.

At the core of DIPLOMICS, three advisory committees (ACs) consisting of esteemed scientists represent the domains of genomics, proteomics & metabolomics, and bioinformatics. These committees collaborate closely with DIPLOMICS management to identify infrastructure gaps, find solutions, and develop strategic initiatives.
