About Direct Action Everywhere
Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a global grassroots network of animal rights activists dedicated to achieving social and political change for animals in one generation. Our mission is to challenge speciesism, which allows for the mass torture and killing of nonhuman animals and disregards their home, our planet, as well as the oppressive institutions and ideologies that harm all animals, humans included. We work towards enshrining an Animal Bill of Rights through direct action and mobilizing thousands of individuals across hundreds of cities worldwide.
Our accomplishments include rescuing hundreds of animals from slaughterhouses and laboratories, defending the Right to Rescue in court, passing groundbreaking legislation such as the fur ban in Berkeley, and reaching millions through media coverage. Additionally, we proudly opened the first community center for animal rights in the US, the Berkeley Animal Rights Center, and founded the annual Animal Liberation Conference. Join us in creating a compassionate world for all beings
