Direction N’tolo

Direction N’tolo is a Swiss association founded in 1998 by a group of young people seeking to support young people in Cameroon. Working through partnerships and ongoing relationships with the community, the association focuses on practical projects that improve opportunities and quality of life in the village of N’tolo and the surrounding region.

Its long-standing partner is Fareso, a youth centre in N’tolo, which it supports through funding for breakfasts and academic tutoring. The association also finances around 50 annual scholarships to help young people facing financial hardship complete a stage of education, such as secondary school or the baccalaureate. Its microcredit initiative helps people start income-generating activities, including hair salons, motorcycle taxis and small restaurants.

In partnership with the leadership of Ebone High School, Direction N’tolo established a library with study space for up to 40 students and books and textbooks across school subjects. Other initiatives have included support for a regional high school, mosquito-net distribution, and funding for poultry farming and cultivation.
