Dirt Academy Kids

Dirt Academy Kids creates gardening curricula that help families teach children how to grow food at home. Designed for homeschoolers and usable by any family, school, or co-op, its program makes gardening approachable even for adults with no prior experience. The central curriculum includes 30 hand-illustrated lessons in a hardback textbook, written to be read aloud, alongside age-leveled workbooks for kindergarten through second grade and third through fifth grade. Each lesson pairs an academic activity with a simple, outdoor sensory exercise, encouraging children to learn at the table and then put ideas into practice in the garden.

The curriculum also includes 30 short video lessons filmed in a working garden, demonstrating activities before families try them themselves. The “In the Garden” bundle adds two live group coaching calls each month with the owners and access to a community for six months, offering practical guidance throughout a growing season. Resources are designed for a flexible, self-paced schedule and can be used at home, after school, on weekends, or during summer.
