Dirt Maidens is a biking community based in Eugene, Oregon, working to support FTWN-B riders in the southern Willamette Valley. The organization creates welcoming experiences where riders can feel encouraged, supported, and a sense of belonging. Its work centers on inclusion, representation, access, and a thoughtful relationship with the land and the people whose homelands the community rides on.
Dirt Maidens aims to increase the visibility of FTWN-B riders in the regional biking community and help ensure they have a voice in decisions about biking. It also works to make bikes and biking opportunities more accessible to people who face barriers related to race, gender, sexual orientation, body shape and size, class, and other identities. Beyond acknowledging Indigenous land, the group commits to asking difficult questions about the connections between outdoor recreation, biking, and colonialism, and to working toward more respectful relationships.
Through its upcoming events, Dirt Maidens brings riders together and advances these values.
