About Discalced Carmelite Friars
The Carmelite Friars of the California-Arizona Province of St. Joseph are a community dedicated to a life of prayer and ministry. With a mission of spreading God's love, they combine both contemplative and active aspects to answer Christ's call.
As Carmelite brothers and priests, they serve the Church in various ministries, including staffing parishes, retreat houses, and houses of prayer. They also run an Institute of Spirituality and have a mission in Uganda, Africa. Additionally, the Friars provide spiritual direction, chaplaincy in hospitals and prisons, and support to Carmelite Nuns and Seculars.
Devoted to the love of Jesus in the Eucharist and to Mary, they are steadfast in their loyalty to the Church. With a focus on fraternal charity, they testify to God's all-embracing love, promoting universal brotherhood, justice, and peace.
