About Distr
Distr is an open-source platform that helps software companies deliver and manage self-hosted software without turning each customer deployment into a separate engineering project. Its tools support repeatable onboarding, installation, updates, and operations across customer-controlled environments, including VPC, BYOC, on-premises, GovCloud, and air-gapped setups. Teams can begin with Docker Compose proof-of-concept deployments and expand to Helm-based delivery as customer needs grow.
The platform includes deployment agents, an artifact registry, a customer portal, license and entitlement management, alerts, logs and metrics, compatibility checks, pre-flight checks, vulnerability scanning, secrets, and integrations. Customers can use the portal to install software, access artifacts, manage credentials, and control versions, while vendors can manage releases, deployment targets, and customer access. Distr also centralizes deployment status and support information to help teams troubleshoot issues and reduce manual work around installations, upgrades, and rollbacks. Its stated aim is to make self-hosted delivery a scalable product capability for organizations serving security-conscious and enterprise customers. Distr offers flexible pricing plans and resources including documentation, case studies, and a free trial.
